Solar Activity / X Ray Flares

Solar activity was quiet in the last 24 hours.
Neither significant flare nor solar radio burst occurred in the last 24 hours. The CME hurled west with 372 km/s median velocity and 72 degrees maximum angular width. The latest SDO/HMI Intensitygram data shows one active region (NOAA 12886). STEREO EUVI/AIA 195 observation shows no new active region is going to appear from the east limb of the Solar disk in the next 48 hours.

Solar Wind / Geomagnetic Activity

The geomagnetic activity was in active level in the last 24 hours.
The solar wind speed fluctuated from 333 km/s to 385 km/s. The north-south component of the interplanetary magnetic field fluctuated from -7 to 11 nT. The geoeffective coronal holes were on the northwestern equator and central equator to south pole, while the other at the north pole was not geoeffective.  
 
Active level geomagnetic is expected for October 19th, 08:00 UT-October 20th, 07:59 UT.
Quiet level geomagnetic is expected for October 20th, 08:00 UT-October 21st, 07:59 UT.

 

 

 

 

Ionosphere / Scintillation

The ionosphere was on quiet level for the last 24 hours.
There was no depression of foF2 lower than 30% of its median values. There was increment of fmin more than 30% of its median values for 225 minutes. The Spread-F not occurred. The Sporadic-E occurred in the night and daytime for 705 minutes. The W-index mean value was 1. The S4 index values (condition of ionospheric scintillation) was less than 0.5 over Bandung.
